Firstly, consult the manual of your device to see exactly what lid you have to remove. Typically, for a mouse, the object is located underneath. Pull the id backward or forward until it moves, then remove the battery with something sharp. Mouse devices use AAA(fat) or AA(slim) batteries. Replace the battery, put the lid back and then turn on the mouse and it should work. This applies for WiFi or Bluetooth mouse devices.
