If you can't make it work on Windows 8, then I recommend you apply a compatibility tweak. If you have the application installed or plan to install it, right click the setup/executable file and go to Properties > Compatibility. Choose a compatible operating system from the drop-down menu, then tick the Run as Administrator. From what I know, this app needs system access and ticking the option will give it. Finally, launch the setup and follow the installation procedure and that's it.
