Starting with QuickTime 10, you can open a live stream using File > Open Location. The QuickTime can load many streams, but it's best to simply output your stream in an .m3u8 format. It's the standard format to keep all your streams in one place. You won't be able to use SopCast or AceStream, but as long as the video broadcast is in HTTP:// and .mp4 format, then you can use the apps available through the database of Software Informer (Mac version).
