How to install Linux Debian on my PC?

There are two installation modes for Debian.

  1. In a virtual machine with the help of VirtualBox. Download the ISO from the official website, mount it in the VirtualBox and follow the wizard instructions. The process is automatic.

  2. Install the operating system on the hard drive. Download the same ISO, burn it to a CD/DVD using IMGBurn then configure your bios to boot from CD and start the graphical install. If you use the easy installation method, the process is simple with a few basic questions.

Warning: The 2nd option will wipe your hard drive since the partition needs to be in EXT4 format.
