The Master Subsidy Lock is a code that allows you to access various hidden settings available within your phone. These options are not available by default for the end user. They're used to diagnose and repair various aspects of the phone. To get the MSL code without root, simply install Get My MSL code through Google Play. When you access a menu that requires the MSL, enter the code and it should be available.
