I would like to know:

  1. Where might SI be looking to find traces of version 35?
  2. Why can't it detect my completely up-to-date 39?

It's possible that you've updated the Chrome application, but didn't perform a Refresh in the S.I client. Happened for me a few times and the issue, if you could call it that way, was caused due to the client that was already started. Simply close the client, then open it again and perform a Refresh and the version should be detected correctly. Alternatively, re-install the S.I client, because this could also be a bug. The client reads the versions from the registry items.
