The error you're facing is not related to email address. It seems that you got disconnected because of a computer problem or Skype itself. Try to disable Windows Firewall by opening a command prompt (
Open Start Menu>Run>CMD) and type the following line:
netsh firewall set opmode disable. Then, perform a new installation of the software by downloading the latest version from the website. The result of the command above should look like this:

Also make sure you disable temporary any Internet security software you have and then try to reconnect.
