Using WhatsApp only with WiFi.

Will messages sent to me while I am out of range, be waiting and delivered to my phone when I return to being in range?

Yes, you will receive the messages once you get in the range of a WiFi or when you connect to the Internet. For your security, the messages are temporary stored on the server and they're available after you connect to the Internet. The messages are also encrypted and impossible to decrypt.
