While trying to install a CAD program using its original 3.5 floppies, one of the disks said it was not properly formatted. How do I reformat without losing data?

You can't install the application anymore because that disk is now completely lost. This is a standard message that practically says "I'm corrupted". There is no way to overcome the problem because in the end you'll have to reformat it, therefore losing the data stored on it. Recovery is also impossible since it's a plastic disc with high probability of damage. Please look for the software on Google or on the Software Informer database.
