Garmin Lifetime Updater problem.

Question

I have downloaded the Garmin Express program to my computer, but when it is looking for the Garmin device, it is telling me that it does not recognize the device I am trying to get the map downloads too.

Also I have a Garmin Nuvi 2455 LMT , and it was working fine , and then all of a sudden would not work. It's locked up to a black screen and in big letters across the screen it says Garmin. On the top of this screen it also says in white letters " system software missing".

Could you please tell me what went on for this to to what it is doing?

The error presented means that a component is missing from the main installation. I would advise re-installing Garmin Express with Administrator rights. Right click the setup package and select Run as Administrator then follow the instructions. Additionally, go to Start > Run > devmgmt.msc and make sure the Garmin device is properly installed. Otherwise, right click it and select Update Device and let Windows install the necessary files. This could also be the cause to your problem.
