Unfortunately, if you don't have a backup of those files and emails, then it's impossible to recover them. Yes, there are application created to recover emails but their efficiency is somewhere around 5-10 % without real data recovery. I would advise to check the SENT and Trash folders. Nowadays, many email service provide unlimited storage space and you can take advantage of this to recover the emails that have been deleted, archived or corrupted.
