VaioShell is directly related to VaioCare. The uninstall/reinstall operation would do no good since this has become problematic for many users. It's said that in order to fix it, a users needs to completely uninstall the application and then start from scratch. This means you will need to install original VaioCare and Vaio Update and progressively update one and then each other from version to version.
