Yes, you can download map directions/routes/itineraries or POIs (Points of Interest) from Google Maps to your TomTom. Since Google is no longer supporting the TomTom devices, I suggest you download and install Tyre. It is an easy-to-use tool that allows you to transfer the map directions from Google Maps directly to your device. Once you launch it, press the 
button from the Tools menu and open the Google Maps - Map and Google Maps - Route tabs. Configure your settings and after that set your map directions. Next, you need to connect the TomTom device and to select Copy to TomTom from the TomTom menu:
