My Android phone was stolen yesterday. I have installed the "vault" app in it, my questions are:

  1. Are the private photos saved on vault app can still be viewed even if they uninstall and install the same app?
  2. Are the photos saved on vault app still viewable on a photos folder even if the phone is reset to factory settings?

If the photos were saved on external storage, then the user can connect the SD card to the PC through a card reader and copy the files. No, they can't view the pictures if the application is installed again, but there are other methods. No, the photos will not be available if they were locked, in other case, that user can access them from the Gallery.

No, the photos saved on vault app will not be viewable in such cases. To protect your phone in the future, I suggest you install a reliable anti-theft or tracking app like iKeyMonitor on the phone. Such apps may be useful in offering clues to find the phone back when it gets lost or stolen.
