I encounter connection issues everyday. Troubleshooting fixes the problem and it is always the Atheros AR285 802.11b/g/n WiFi adapter. I use Xfinity Super High Speed Internet and the speed is not as fast as it should be. I wanted to start by possibly updating the network adapter since this is always what the problem ends up being. Can you direct me to the proper measures to correct this problem? I will try to provide further info if needed.

This is the info from last troubleshooter and it is the same every day: Print Network Adapter Publisher details

The first thing you have to do is to obtain another driver for your Atheros device. Since Atheros devices are mostly used in laptops, you will have to visit the support page for you laptop to obtain the necessary driver. After this procedure, completely uninstall the current driver and reboot the computer. Install the new drivers and connect to the Internet device (Xfinity Super High Speed Internet box). Configure the wireless to use b/g/n standards and switch the channel to 11; 11 being the most used one. Set the WPA2 properly as Personal with TKIP or AES and then reboot it. The problems should disappear by now.
