The only way to obtain information about software updates is to use the built-in update module. To access it, go to Settings > About phone > Software update. Register your phone, then connect to a wireless network and check for updates. If there are any, you will be prompted to update. However, the Galaxy Gear is compatible with Samsung phones only.
