The only way to update the phone is through the OTA (Over the Air). To do this, connect to a wireless network then go to Settings > About > Software Update. Register if it's necessary, and then apply the available updates (if any). During this time, the phone might restart a few times, but this is normal to happen in situations like these. To check for the update version, go to Settings > About phone and scroll down.
