Private proxy access.

I understand that this software allows you to connect to any open proxy server worldwide. However, does this software allow you to set up your own private proxy?

There are security issues that come with connecting to unknown proxies that I would like to avoid.

No, the application does not allow you to set up your own Proxy server but it allows you to use custom proxies. Access its configuration screen and add the proxies you trust. It will connect through them before reaching any website.

If you have security issues, try using TOR Bundle. It is completely anonymous and the traffic is heavily encrypted.
