I can't unprotect the folders in my thumb drive!

I downloaded Kakasoft Folder protector from here and used it to protect folders in my thumb drive. But when I try to unprotect my folder today, it's showing me this message "A needed tool to lock/encrypt folders flash disk and hard drive has stopped working." and it advises to check online for a solution. Can you help?

The error related to the fact that the application is either missing or corrupted. Copy Lockdir.exe to the target drive by replacing the old one and then run it again. You should be able to unlock your files again. Alternatively, use the thumb drive in another computer after you have copied LockDir.exe and run it from there. Your OS could be the cause for this error. A system restore is recommended in this case.
