I changed from Mac OS 10.6.8 to MacBook Air 10.9.1. I am able to use my KONICA MINOLTA magicolor 1690MF all-in-one printer after downloading the recently released printer driver from the manufacturer's site. I have been unable to get the scanner to work, however. The downloaded scanner driver cannot be installed into the dialogue box of Systems Preference > Printer & Scanner. Any suggestion?

If you upgraded your operating system, you will need to re-download the updated drivers from its official website. Most likely, you have downloaded the drivers for printer, but on the website there is another section for scanner downloads. You need to download that package related to 10.9.1 version of MAC.

The filename is: mc1690_Scanner_Mac109.dmg (4086 KB)

Note: Remove the software and previous installed drivers before to install newer ones.

How do I remove the software and previous installed drivers? I searched for 1690MF in the computer and deleted them. I also went to the Printers & Scanners dialog box to delete (-) the printer. I restarted the computer, then downloaded the drivers from the official website. After installing them, I restarted the computer and attached the printer via USB port. Again, the same thing happened, no scan icon in the Printers & Scanners dialog box.
