It's not enough to connect the printer to your PC in order to establish a connection between those two. It's imperative to install the printer's driver. The driver is a short program that gives instruction to the operating system on how to manage the printer. This can be found on the CD that came with the device. After you installed the driver, you should be able to use the printer.
