Play music from home computer on phone.

I have the Nexus 5 phone and an ASUS RT-AC68R router on my home computer network. I have a hard drive plugged into the router USB port. The hard drive has a folder with my music files.

I installed the ASUS aiCloud app on the phone. Using the app I am able see the music files from my phone. If I click on a music file it will play.

However, I have to navigate to each individual file. I would like to have a music player that is able to organize the music so that I can search by title, artist, album, genre, etc. I would also like to be able to create playlists.

Is there an app that will do this? How do I set it up? What settings do I make on the router? What else do I need to do to make this work?

Thank you.

You don't need a player to do that. Just install ES File Explorer and then tap the menu button and select Network > LAN. Input the details and you will have the content of the HDD added to the application. You can then use it to browse to entire playlist of files.
