I can't go to any free antivirus websites nohow.

Question

Before my license expired, my avg failed trying to update, then I discovered I couldn't go to their website or email then the error connection was failed. I tried other free antivirus sites but the same thing. I was able to go to the Grisoft site but after downloading the installation fails, when it tries to go to the website. I also tried my disks but the same problem. I don't want to unload and reload my hardrive. My Spybot Search and Destroy still runs but can't remove the 6 Trojans that were found and it can't update either.

You must have a nasty virus that blocks any attempt to install an antivirus. Try opening Task Manager(CTRL+ALT+DELETE and go to the Processes tab), search and kill the chkinit.exe, rmctrl.exe, dllserv.exe or regserv.exe and/or svcxnw32.exe registry. If the virus blocks your access to the Processes tab also, download and install Uniblue’s WinTasks and/or Registrar Lite to kill the infected processes and update/install an reliable antivirus.
