I cannot obtain access to General Ledger because another task has locked the database. It says to wait for the task to complete and retry the operation. I need help solving this error.

You will need to disable any startup items that may interfere with the application. To do that, press Windows key + R and type msconfig. Locate the Startup tab and disable all the applications that may interfere with your application. Restart the computer and then you can use your software in normal mode, because all other applications will be disabled.
