This isn't an unusual thing. Your Kaspersky software searches for updates regularly (you can usually change this from settings). It doesn't matter if the last update was made a few days ago or a few hours, it will still connect to the server and notify you about the latest updates. It's advised to update it as many times as possible to be sure that your computer is protected.
