Is the Snow Leopard OS newer than the Lion OS?

Is the Snow Leopard OS newer than the Lion OS? And does it need 512 MB of RAM in order to run?

No, the Mac OS X Snow Leopard was released on the 28th of August, 2009 and the Mac OS X Lion was released on the 20th of July, 2011. You can say that the Snow Leopard OS received its last update 5 days after the Lion OS was released. However, in order to run the Mac OS X Lion on your computer, you got to have a minimum of 2 GB of RAM.
