In order to delete photos, keep the finger tapped on a picture until the selection menu becomes available then a square will appear on the upper right part where you can select the picture. Select the pictures then click the bin icon. Exit the folder then do the same with the folder and everything will be deleted. If the folder was created with an application, you will probably have the possibility to delete it from the application's interface.
