Since LAVA website does not provide drivers for your USB modem, you will have to install the drivers manually. Set the compatibility of the setup package found on the modem to Windows XP or Windows 7. Windows 7 is recommended because it's close to Windows 8. Install the application and ignore the fact that the drivers will not install. Reboot the computer and plug the USB modem, then go to Device Manager (Windows Key + X > Device Manager) right-click the yellow item and select Update Driver. Point the install path to Program Files/[the directory where Lava keeps drivers and files] and select the INF files. You should have a working modem in Windows 8 after the procedure.
