AVG Firewall and Windows Firewall deactivation

I have AVG firewall. Do I also need Windows Firewall or should I disable it?

The application automatically takes control of the default Windows Firewall and uses it in conjunction with its embedded modules. It's not necessary to disable it as AVG controls every aspect of it, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. If you disable Windows Firewall, most likely you will get a notification from AVG stating that the default Windows Firewall has been disabled by user.

No, you don't need Windows Firewall to be activated. According to the developer, when you install AVG Firewall, the Windows Firewall is automatically disabled. This will prevent conflicts between applications installed on your computer. Having two firewalls activated in your computer might cause more issues than you can imagine. The developer recommends having only one firewall activated at the time. It should be OK with AVG Firewall. Leave Windows Firewall as it is (default as DISABLED).
