I am getting an "Out of Memory" message every time I try to Import a photo. I am importing from a new Sony camera. Can Expressit handle that?

To solve this problem, you can try to load the picture on your computer first, then import it to the Expressit SE program. Also, try to perform a clean boot before you try again. To do a clean boot, depending on your OS, you can go to Start > Run > type msconfig and press Enter. In the new window opened, go to General tab and make sure that Selective startup option is enabled and the Load Startup items are disabled. Next, go to Service tab, select Hide all Microsoft services, then click Disable all. Apply the changes and reboot your computer. If you still have problems using the application, contact the developer on the official website.

I found that you have to use smaller photos, like about 0.5 MB and it imports OK. Sigh.

Use Irfanview to convert to lower pixels. Not sure where the boundries are, but I've had thew errors on pics with 5000x5000 pixels - converted to 1500x1500 pixels and they worked then. Probably not everyone's issue but maybe help someone.
