I cannot download from a CD and I get an "Error Code 32" message from CD-Rom. How do I fix this on my own?

In order to fix this issue, I suggest you run the Fix It utility provided by Microsoft. There is a version for Windows 8.1 and Windows 8 and one for Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP. If the error persists after you use the Microsoft utility, try to manually fix the registry entries. Press Windows + R key combination, type regedit and click OK. Navigate to HKEY-LOCAL-MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Control > Class > {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}, select the UpperFilters and LowerFilters entries and click Delete from the Edit menu.

Alternatively, go to HKEY-LOCAL-MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Services, right-click atapi and select New > Key. Type Controller0, hit the Enter key, right-click Controller0 and select New > DWORD(32-bit) Value. Type EnumDevice1, press Enter, right-click EnumDevice1 and select Modify. Type 1 in the Value data field, press OK and restart your computer.

Another solution is to reinstall the drivers. Right-click the Computer icon, select Manage and press Device Manager. Expand the DVD/CD-ROM drives, right-click on the drivers and select Uninstall. Restart your computer and the drivers will be automatically installed.
