Problems with PC Theatre 5.1 surround system

I have PC Theatre 5.1 Surround System on my Windows XP and I attached the wires in the right place. I put on some music but it won't play. I looked up the problem on the Internet and it seems like I need to download some driver for the computer to recognize the hardware. What do I need to do exactly?

After connecting the wires, you don't have to install a specific software for your Surround System, but you'll have to change the configuration of you computer, for your audio device to be recognized. Go to Start, Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices, go to Audio, and from Sound Playback pick the Advanced tab and choose 5.1 surround sound speakers for the Speaker Setup. Hit OK, Apply and OK.
