Firstly, right-click the files you want to open, click Properties, select the General tab and check the file format next to Type of file. RealPlayer supports .ram, .rmm, .ra, .rax, .rv., .rvx, .rm, .rmx, .rmvb, .rmd, .rmj, .rms, .rp, .rt, .mp3, .mp2, .m4a, .mp4, .mpg, .mpeg, .smil, .smi, .mov, .qt and .avi files. If your downloaded files are not in this list, I suggest you use another video player to open them. Personally, I recommend you try VLC Media Player because it supports all major video and audio formats. If the files are in the above list, update RealPlayer to the latest version and download and install Combined Community Codec Pack.
