In order to use the webcam on your computer, you will need a webcam capture utility. In general, the HP computers are using the HP MediaSmart Webcam software, but you can try any other from Software Informer database. Once you launch it, your webcam will automatically turn on and you will be able to use it. If it doesn't work, right-click on the Computer icon, select Manage and open Device Manager. Expand the Imaging devices list, right click on the webcam driver and select Uninstall. After that, navigate to HP Drivers & Downloads web page, identify your laptop model, select your operating system, click Next and download and install the provided webcam files.
