I bought another iPod of new version. After I connected my new iPod with the older version's iTunes, it's not working. Why?

I bought another iPod of new version. After I connected my new iPod with the older version's iTunes, it's not working. Why?

iTunes needs to synchronize the firmware of the device with its latest version. Basically, to support newer versions iTunes needs to be installed to its latest version. To do so, download latest version from Software Informer and replace the old one.
