I don't see the connection between Google Chrome and this application, but if you said you've lost images during this process, then you can recover them with the help of Recuva. Install Recuva and use the built-in Wizard to set up the scanning preferences. Once the scanning preferences have benen set up, initate tha scan and wait to complete then you can recover the files. Maker sure to recover them to another partition except the original one.
