How can I open PPS files with Windows Media Player?
You can't open PowerPoint Show (.pps) files with Windows Media Player because this application can open only audio and video formats. To open your .pps file you need Microsoft Office PowerPoint or Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer. The second one is free of charge and can help you to view and print presentations, but doesn't allow you to edit them.
