After a crash, my system restored the previous version of Apple software. I can't upgrade it because the MSI package don't match. What is the best way to remove the previous version in order to install the new one when MSI uninstall fails? I have remove it from registry twice, but my system reverts it back to the previous registry.

I'd just uninstall it completely and try downloading and reinstalling it.

That is what I tried, of course but I could not because the Uninstall fails. After researching it I figured out this was a result of the original MSI package is not the same version as what is installed. This problem was caused by the bootup repair tool in Win7 running during startup and reverted/rolledback the registry right after installing a new version of apple's software using the apple updater tool. I solution I found involves using the MSI cleanup tool removing the package from add/remove programs and installing the current version. The error is caused because the registry contained the old information but the new version was installed so the installer errors out when trying to uninstall the currently installed version because the MSI package is for the new version and the registry contains the old version so uninstalling fails. Using the cleanup tool I removed the old MSI installer information for the installed package that has the error and install the currently installed version over the top and the problem is resolved and later patches work fine.

In order to remove the program completely from your computer and install its new version, I suggest you use Revo Uninstaller. Even if it can't uninstall the application normally, it will force it to uninstall by wiping out all traces of its presence from the system.

After that, try running CCleaner to make sure that there are no leftover registry keys in your system and download and install the new version of the program from the official web page.
