I can't run QuickTime player due to "Could not find or load QuickTime ActiveX control" error message. What can I do?

ANSWER IS FOUND !!!!! GO TO: http://research.gerger.com/?view=lab&aID=1006 follow the instructions on the bottom of the page for the Quicktime Fix. Its awesome and works great. It will require a reboot but the fix works. I spent hours on this problem!

You receive this error because the software is not fully compatible with your system or there are some registry keys from an older version of the program that are corrupted. In order to fix the error, remove the software from your computer using its uninstaller or Add or Remove Programs feature and run CCleaner or Glary Utilities to make sure that there are no leftover registry keys in your system. After that, navigate to Apple Download Center and download and install QuickTime 7.7.6.
