Dell laptop turns on but the screen is black

I have a Dell laptop and when I turn it on it is not working.

First try to unplug the battery from the laptop for a couple of minutes then plug it back and turn on the laptop. In most of the cases this was just a system lock due to a certain error. If the problem persists you will need to take the laptop to Dell Service because it can be a serious problem related to motherboard or display components.

I am sorry to know that you are facing an issue with the system. If your system has power and is not booting up there could be several possibilities for this issue.

Before we proceed to the troubleshooting, I would like to know: Do you have any lights on the power button? Does any of the lights blink on the computer? including the power button? Does the system make any beep sounds? What is the system model number and how old is the system?
