My Sony Ericsson W595 shows the following message: "Serious message has occurred. Don't charge, don't use your phone, contact Sony Ericsson Call Centre."

It seems that charging the phone will do more damage. You need to do exactly what is shown on the screen and contact your local network carrier if the phone is using a subscription plan or take it to the local Sony service shop.
