How can I set or create a profile in AutoRipNCompress to output a file from Blu-ray and DVD something that a xbox360 extender will play in surround sound (5.1)? I am currently able to rip DVD and Bl-ray in front channel only and every time I try to back up Con Air on Blu-ray using AutoRipNCompress, it stops responding entirely. I am using a handbrake, Haali Media Splitter and AnyDVD HD (paid) plus MakeMKV. Note that only happens with that particular title.

AutoRipNCompress uses multiple codecs which in this case you will need to configure the codecs for the 5.1 sound. The configuration tools for these codecs are found in the Control Panel. The one you need to use is Haali Media Splitter.

Alex, I am under the impression that the xbox360 extender will only support specific file types and containers. From what I have been reading now it seems to need  me to save the movies as Divx/AVI or possibly MKV. AutoRipNCompress allows the ripping of the discs relatively painlessly if I can get a profiles for DVD and BluRay set up correctly.

In AutoRipNCompress, please go to Settings > DVD Profile and click the Plus sign. Once the window opens, please tweak the settings.

The extender supports all kind of video file formats. I'm not sure that the Xbox can play MKV, but since it's streaming it from the PC, I believe it will work because the processing is done on the PC side.
