I have a ZTE Merit and a 32GB SD card yet I have low storage on my phone. Why is this happening?

The internal storage has nothing to do with external storage devices. If the applications you install have no external support, then these will be installed on the storage memory of your phone. If you want to manually move the applications from the internal memory to external one, please use a utility like APP2SD. After you install an application from the market you can use this utility to move it to external storage (your SD card).

pA better solution is to root the phone and install a new rom that allows you to set up part of your sd card as internal memory. read about it here: http://androidarea51.com/arearom-merit/arearom-release-for-z990/
