How do I update my programs if I don't have an Internet connection available?

I don't have Internet access to my desktop and I need to update everything on my computer. I have Windows Vista. As you can tell, I don't know anything about computers.

You will need to use another computer with Internet access because this is the only way to do it. On the second computer you will need to manually download pretty most anything that your original computer has installed: from hardware drivers to software updates then you can use a USB stick to transfer the updated content to the computer.
