Can I use my Xerox printer without installingthe XMS PC software

Do I have to install the XMS PC software for my scanner or can I use the scanner without installing the software?

Xerox XMS PC connect is a utility used for firmware updating of the device. On the other hand, the application allows you to choose the path where the scans are stored which means that you will need this application.
