If I eventually want to write a cross-platform app that runs on Win8/WinPhone/8Android/iOS/etc., what language(s) should I write said app in?

In this context language has 2 different meanings. One is localization, which in order to be suitable for all should be not limited to English only and for the development part, for every platform you will need to use the available SDK which is different for Windows, Android, iOS etc.

Thanks Stephen. I didn't even think about the vagueness of the word language in this context. I was referring to programming language, as in HTML5, Javascript, C++, etc. It seems as though every SDK utilizes different programming languages, so I'd have to be well-versed in all of them. Is there a good foundational language that I might want to start with?
