Let's take a different approach to this problem. I suggest you use an online converter because it eliminates the need of installing additional software and everything is done with two clicks. I have used SolMire Online conversion service and it worked like a charm. You can even customize the settings for your MIDI if you want it to transcode in a way you want. This was the first result from Google. Of course, there are additional services and applications but since this worked well, I recommend it.
