Unable to connect to the spectrometer. Why could this be happening?

I downloaded the SpectraSuite program and connected the Ocean Optics spectrometer to my computer. When I click 'Show Devices' in the program, the connected spectrometer should appear, but it does not. There is no issue with the computer or the spectrometer, so it seems to be a problem with the program. Why could this be happening?

Likely the firmware on the spectrometer needs to be updated.
