Why the entire video shows as one large frame rather than individual frames within the timeline?

When I import video files to Power Director 16 projects, the entire video shows as one large frame rather individual frames. Is there a setting that I’m not aware of? I’ve had the software for some time but am now finally in need to use it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
