I have a purchased DVD with PAF Companion 2.0. My Windows 7-based PC will not recognize the program because of an incorrect OS.

The version you have is not compatible with Windows 7. For that you will need to download an updated version. The software reached version 6 which adds Windows 7 x64 compatibility. You can get it from the official website.
